20th October, 2020 – TESS, Norway’s leading supplier of products and services to the maintenance, repair and overhaul market has selected Iptor, a leader in distribution and supply chain management, planning and logistics software and services, as its cloud managed services provider. Iptor replaces TESS’ current hosting provider.
The Norwegian company, headquartered in Lier, produces special hoses, hose fittings and other products related to hydraulics and subsea and is also the country’s largest distributor of welding and gas equipment. Iptor will provide TESS with the infrastructure for Iptor DC1, its flagship cloud-based ERP solution, as an Iptor Cloud Managed Service, allowing TESS to more efficiently manage its operations. With products distributed through more than 140 service centers across the country, all with locally adjusted products, services and inventory the ability to be flexible, and better manage capacity fluctuations without additional investment, was a key factor in the selection of Iptor.
Other selection factors where Iptor had the advantage over its competitors were:
- Iptor’s unique knowledge of DC1 and ability to monitor the actual application and avoid downtime
- The synergy effects of having the same company providing application as well as infrastructure support
- A high-end technical solution with synchronous mirroring, an uncapped central processing unit and a flash system disc to improve uptime and performance.
With 1,300 employees worldwide, more than 130 locations in Norway, Europe, the USA, South America and Asia and having posted 30% revenue growth in 2019, the selection of Iptor on a 3-year contract is a key strategic investment by TESS.
