We are writing to inform you of a service disruption affecting the LPD service following recent Windows updates. This disruption impacts Adobe AEM 6.5, which relies on the LPD service for document distribution.
Issue Summary:
The LPD service is experiencing instability, resulting in intermittent failures. This is preventing Adobe AEM 6.5 from successfully sending documents, causing a backlog of documents in the “SND=Sending” status on the IBM Server.
Current Status:
We are actively investigating this issue in collaboration with both Adobe and Microsoft. While a definitive resolution has not been identified, we are committed to finding a solution as quickly as possible.
Recommended Interim Measures:
To minimize disruption to your operations, we suggest implementing the following temporary measures:
- Pause Output Queue: Temporarily halt the output queue for AEM* on the IBM Server.
- Review Windows Updates: Evaluate recently installed Windows updates for potential conflicts. Consider uninstalling or pausing updates until a resolution is found.
- Server Restart: Perform a restart of the Windows server.
Once the underlying issue is resolved, you can resume normal operations by releasing the held output queues.
